West Indies level the series against India

The West Indies registered a six-wicket win over India in the rain-effected 2nd ODI of the series on Saturday at Barbados. West Indies captain Shai Hope won the coin toss and opted to bowl first.

India rested their skipper Rohit Sharma and most experienced player Virat Kohli in the 2nd ODI. In the absence of Sharma, Hardik Pandya led the Indian team.

After losing the toss, India got off to a solid start, and Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill made a 90-run partnership for the first wicket until Shubman Gill was dismissed for 34 runs. Five runs later, Ishan Kishan departs for 55 runs. After that, India lost momentum and wickets at regular intervals. Suryakumar Yadav scored 24 runs, while Shardul Thakur contributed 16 runs. Eventually, India were bowled out for 181 runs in 40.5 overs. For the West Indies, Gudakesh Motie and Romario Shepherd claimed three wickets each.

In reply, the West Indies chased down the target successfully and scored 182 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 36.4 overs. Skipper Shai Hope was the top scorer with an unbeaten 63 runs, and Keacy Carty scored an unbeaten 48 runs. Both Keacy Carty and Shai Hope made an unbroken 91-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Kyle Mayers contributed with 36 runs. For India, Shardul Thakur picked up three wickets.
