Steven Smith completes 9000 Test runs, the second fastest after Sangakkara

Australian Middle order Batter Steven Smith passed the 9000-run milestone in Test matches during the 2nd match of The Ashes, 2023, on Wednesday at Lord’s Cricket Ground. He became the fourth Australian and overall 17th player to reach the 9,000-run milestone. It ranked as the second-fastest to score 9,000 runs in test matches. He reached this milestone in his 174th inning.

Sri Lankan batting legend Kumar Sangakkara holds the record for the fastest to score 9000 Test runs (in innings). He has scored 9,000 runs in 172 innings. While Former Indian Captain Rahul Dravid and West Indies legend Brian Lara were in 3rd and 4th place, respectively.
