Siraj destroyed the Sri Lankan innings; Asia Cup final ended within 21 overs

India registered a 10-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the final of the Asia Cup 2023 on Sunday at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka won the coin toss and elected to bat first.

After winning the toss, Sri Lanka got off to a horrible start with the brilliant pace attack of India. Indian bowlers keep attacking and putting pressure on Sri Lankan batsmen. Sri Lanka lost wickets regularly, and they were bundled out for 50 runs in 15.2 overs. Kusal Mendis was the top scorer with 17 runs, and Dushan Hemantha scored an unbeaten 13 runs. Other than that, no one was able to pass the double-figure mark. Mohammed Siraj destroyed the Sri Lankan innings; he took four wickets in his second over and completed his five wickets within 15 balls. Hardik Pandya claimed three wickets.

In reply to that, India chased down the target successfully and scored 51 runs in 6.1 overs without losing a wicket. Shubman Gill scored an unbeaten 27 runs, and Ishan Kishan scored an unbeaten 23 runs.

With that win, India clinched their eighth ACC Asia Cup title.
