Scotland kept their hopes alive and Zimbabwe was knocked
Scotland registered a 31-run win over Zimbabwe in the 6th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023 on Tuesday at Bulawayo. Zimbabwe captain Craig Ervine won the toss and elected to bowl first.
After losing the toss, Scotland managed to score 234 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs. Michael Leask was the top scorer with 48 runs, and Matthew Cross scored 38 runs. Brandon McMullen contributed 34 runs, while George Munsey scored 31 runs. For Zimbabwe, Sean Williams claimed three wickets.
In reply, Zimbabwe was bowled out for 203 runs in 41.1 overs. Zimbabwe lost their top order cheaply, and Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl added 54 runs for the fifth wicket. Sikandar Raza scored 34 runs. Ryan Burl was the top scorer with 83 runs, and Wessly Madhevere contributed 40 runs. For Scotland, Chris Sole claimed three wickets.
With that win, Scotland kept their hopes alive, and Zimbabwe was knocked out of the competition.
