New Zealand Level the series

New Zealand registered a 6-run win over South Africa, in 2nd ODI of the five match series and level the series 1-1, at the Christchurch on Wednesday. South African Captain AB de Villiers won the coin toss, and elected to field first.

After losing the toss New Zealand off to a shaky start, as they lost Tom Latham for 2 runs, at the score of 13. 40 runs later Dean Brownlie dismissed for 34. Following of his dismissal Ross Taylor joined with New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson and made 104 runs partnership for the 3rd wicket before Williamson fell for 69. Neil Broom could not fair well, as he fell for single figures. However James Neesham and Ross Taylor made unbeaten 123 runs partnership for the 5th wicket. For New Zealand, it was Ross Taylor, who was the top scorer with 102 not out. James Neesham contributed with unbeaten 71 runs in 57 balls. Eventually New Zealand manage to score 289 runs for lost of 4 wickets in their 50 overs.

In reply that South Africa lost Hashim Amla early for just 10 runs.South African top order got some start but no one able to bat through the innings. Quinton de Kock scored 57 runs and AB de Villiers scored 45 runs. However Dwaine Pretorius scored a gritty fifty and was well supported by Andile Phehlukwayo, who scored 29 runs not out. Dwaine Pretorius started to play some shots in the latter stage of the innings unfortunately he couldn’t finish the match for South Africa. He dismissed after scoring 50 runs in 27 balls. However South Africa manage to score 283 runs lost of 9 wickets in their 50 overs. It claimed 6 runs victory for the New Zealand.
