Lahiru Kumara registered the Best Bowling figure by a Sri Lankan fast bowler in South Africa

19 years old Sri Lankan right-arm fast bowler Lahiru Kumara achieved a millstone in his little Test Career on the second day of the test match against South Africa at Cape Town. Lahiru Kumara (19y 324d) claimed his maiden 5 wickets haul and became the second youngest Sri Lankan to take a 5 wickets haul in Test matches. Ravindra Pushpakumara hold the record who claimed 7 wickets against Zimbabwe at the age of 19 years and 97 days. Also Lahiru Kumara is the second youngest overseas cricketers to take 5 wickets in South Africa after the Pat Cummins.

Lahiru Kumara took 6 Wickets for 122 runs including the wickets of Hashim Amla, JP Duminy, Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Kock. This is the second Best bowling figures for Sri Lanka in South Africa. Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan have hold the record with 6 wickets for 39 runs in 2000. However he has registered the Best Bowling figure by a Sri Lankan fast bowler in South Africa. Also Lahiru Kumara was the 4th Sri Lankan fast bowler to take a five wicket haul in South Africa. Previously Dilhara Fernando, Chanaka Welagedara and Suranga Lakmal achieved this feat.
