Kusal Perera made a successful return to international cricket

Sri Lanka’s former Limited Overs captain Kusal Perera made a successful return to international cricket. He has missed 17 months of cricket due to a shoulder injury. After a long break, Kusal Perera named the squad for the T20I series against New Zealand.

In his return he played a gem of a knock and anchor the innings and scored an unbeaten 53 runs in 45 balls. Kusal Perera came out to bat in the 2nd ball of the match after the dismissal of Pathum Nissanka and he made 47 runs with Kusal Mendis and rebulid the innings. Also he made 103 runs partnership with Charith Asalanka and set the platform for the competitive total.

In second match he scored 35 runs and 33 runs in third T20I. At the end of the series he manage to score 121 runs with healthy average of 60.5.
