Ireland through to Super 12, Windies eliminated

Ireland registered 9 wickets win over West Indies, in 11th T20I of the T20I World Cup at the Hobart on Friday. West Indies Captain Nicholas Pooran won the coin toss and elected to bat first.

After winning the toss West Indies made 146 runs for lost of 5 wickets in their 20 overs. They hasn’t had a good start. They lost their openers cheaply. But Brandon King and Evin Lewis made 44 runs partnership for the 3rd wicket. Brandon King was the top scorer with an unbeaten 62 runs. For Ireland Gareth Delany claimed 3 wickets for 16 runs.

In reply that Ireland scored 150 runs for lost of 1 wicket in 17.3 overs. Ireland had a solid start with 73 runs partnership for the 1st wicket. Andrew Balbirnie scored 37 runs. After the lost of 1st wicket Lorcan Tucker joined with the Paul Stirling and made 77 runs unbroken partnership for the 2nd wicket. Paul Stirling was the top scorer with 66 runs. Lorcan Tucker scored an unbeaten 45 runs.

With that win Ireland qualify for the Super 12 round in ICC T20 World Cup 2022 and two times Champions West Indies eliminated from the tournament.
