Dambulla Aura is getting closer to the playoffs

Dambulla Aura registered a 7-wicket win over Galle Titans in the 14th match of the Lanka Premier League 2023 on Friday at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Dambulla Aura captain Kusal Mendis won the toss and opted to bowl first.

After losing the toss, the Galle Titans managed to score 133 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their 20 overs. Skipper Dasun Shanaka was the top scorer with 36 runs, and Chad Bowes scored 22 runs. Tim Seifert was promoted up the order, but he was dismissed for 15 runs. For Dambulla Aura, Dushan Hemantha claimed two wickets.

In reply to that, Dambulla Aura chased down the target successfully and scored 134 runs for the loss of three wickets in 17.4 overs. Kusal Mendis and Avishka Fernando formed a solid partnership and made 47 runs for the first wicket. Kusal Mendis scored 18 runs. Sadeera Samarawickrama contributed 25 runs. Avishka Fernando was the star with the bat and scored an unbeaten 70 runs in 49 balls. For the Galle Titans, Lahiru Kumara took two wickets in his return after an injury during the ICC World Cup qualifiers in 2023.
