Comfortable win for Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka registered 9 wickets win over Ireland, in 15th T20I of the T20I World Cup at the Hobart on Sunday. Ireland Captain Andrew Balbirnie won the coin toss and elected to bowl first.
After winning the toss Ireland manage to score 128 runs for lost of 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Sri Lankan captain changed his bowlers nicely and put pressure on Ireland batsman. Harry Tector was the top scorer with 45 runs, and Paul Stirling scored 34 runs. While in the bowling department for Sri Lanka, every one contributed with the wickets. Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga Claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply that Sri Lanka chassed down the target successfully with in 15 overs. They made 133 runs for lost of 1 wicket and claimed 9 wicket win. Due to an Injury of Pathum Nissanka, Dhananjaya de Silva came as the opening batsman with Kusal Mendis. Both added 63 runs partnership for the 1st wicket and set the platform for the chase. Dhananjaya de Silva dismissed for 31 runs. After the dismissal of de Silva, Charith Asalanka joined with Kusal Mendis and made an unbroken 70 runs partnership for the 2nd wicket. Charith Asalanka scored an unbeaten 31 runs. Kusal Mendis was the top scorer with an unbeaten 68 runs and he won the Man of the Match award.
