Chamari Athapaththu became first in Asia

Sri Lanka women registered a historic 8-wicket win in the 3rd and final ODI of the series against New Zealand women on Monday at Galle. With that win, Sri Lanka women registered their first ever series win in any format of the game against New Zealand women. Sri Lankan skipper Chamari Athapaththu played a crucial role in the series and was awarded Player of the Series.

Chamari Athapaththu made her 8th ODI hundred and scored an unbeaten 140 runs in 80 balls with 13 fours and 9 sixes. With that century Chamari Athapaththu has the most hundreds in ODI matches. It’s recorded as her fastest ODI hundred. In the first ODI, she scored her seventh hundred and scored an unbeaten 108 runs.

Chamari Athapaththu was the highest scorer in the 3-match series and scored 248 runs in 3 matches with a healthy strike rate of over 150. She has smashed 23 fours and 14 sixes in three matches.
