Chamara Kapugedara’s suggestion on LPL

The 3rd edition of the Lanka Premier League concluded last week, and Jaffna Kings became champions for the 3rd consecutive time. Many of the younger players demonstrated their abilities, and some National Team players returned to the form. But the disappointing side of LPL 2022 is that many matches were played in front of a small crowd. Matches played at Hambantota, Pallekele, and Colombo. The Kandy Falcons got some good support when they played at Pallekele. In addition, over 20,000 fans gathered to watch the LPL final between the Colombo Stars and the Jaffna Kings. Aside from that, fan participation was minimal throughout the tournament.

However, Sri Lankan batsman Chamara Kapugedara said that “If LPL has the capacity to develop like the Big Bash or IPL, were each frenchise have their own ground and teams to play home and away,”
