Australia lead the series

Australia registered a six-wicket win over England, in the 1st ODI at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday. Australia captain Pat Cummins won the coin toss and elected to bowl first.

After losing the toss, England managed to score 287 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 50 overs. Dawid Malan was the top scorer with 134 runs in 128 balls. David Willey scored an unbeaten 34 runs. For Australia, skipper Pat Cummins and Adam Zampa claimed three wickets each.

In reply that Australia chased down the target successfully within 46.5 overs and scored 291 runs for the loss of four wickets. Both David Warner and Travis Head made 147 runs in partnership for the first wicket. Travis Head scored 69 runs. David Warner was the top scorer with 86 runs. Steven Smith amassed an unbeaten total of 80 runs.
