Akash Madhwal’s bowling performance kept MI’s hope alive
Mumbai Indians registered an 81-run win over Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator match of the Indian Premier League 2023 on Wednesday at Chennai. Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first.
After winning the toss, the Mumbai Indians scored 182 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Cameron Green was the top scorer with 41 runs, and Suryakumar Yadav scored 33 runs. Tilak Varma scored 26 runs, while Nehal Wadhera contributed 23 runs. For the Lucknow Super Giants, Naveen-ul-Haq claimed four wickets.
In reply, the Lucknow Super Giants bundle out for 101 runs in 16.3 overs. Marcus Stoinis was the top scorer with 40 runs, and Kyle Mayers scored 18 runs. For the Mumbai Indians, Akash Madhwal took five wickets for five runs.
With that win, LSG was eliminated from the IPL, and Mumbai Indians advanced to the second qualifier against Gujarat Titans.
