Aaron Finch said goodbye to international cricket

The 36-year-old Aaron Finch, Australia’s most successful T20 international batsman and captain who won the T20 World Cup in 2021, announced his retirement from international cricket on Tuesday. He also retired from ODI cricket last year and played the last Test in 2018. Will, however, continue to play in the Big Bash League and domestic T20 matches.

Under his captaincy, Australia won the T20 World Cup 2021 for the first time by defeating New Zealand in Dubai. Finch has appeared in 103 T20Is, scoring 3120 runs with two hundreds and 19 half centuries.  Cricket Australia tweeted, “Our World Cup winner and longest serving T20 captain Aaron Finch has decided to retire from the game.”
