Sri Lanka won the nail-biting warm-up match

Sri Lanka registered a 2-run win over Ireland in the warm-up match for the Women’s T20 World Cup on Monday at Western Province Cricket Club. The Ireland captain won the coin toss and elected to bowl first.

After winning the toss, Sri Lanka’s women’s team made 149 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their 20 overs. Harshitha Samarawickrama was the top scorer with 56 runs. Vishmi Gunarathne scored 36 runs, and skipper Chamari Atapaththu contributed with 27 runs. For Ireland, Laura Delany claimed three wickets for 20 runs.

In reply that, Ireland bowled out for 147 runs in 19.5 overs. Gaby Lewis was the top scorer with 38 runs. Arlene Nora Kelly scored 30 runs in 17 balls. For Sri Lanka, Inoka Ranaweera and Oshadi Ranasinghe claimed three wickets each.
