Kandy retain their unbeaten record in Pallekele

B-Love Kandy registered a comfortable 8-wicket win over Jaffna Kings in the 9th match of the Lanka Premier League 2023 on Saturday at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy. B-Love Kandy captain Wanindu Hasaranga won the toss and opted to bowl first.

After losing the toss, the Jaffna Kings managed to score 117 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 20 overs. Dunith Wellalage was the top scorer with an unbeaten 38 runs in 27 balls, and Priyamal Perera scored 22 runs. David Miller contributed 21 runs. For B-Love Kandy, skipper Wanindu Hasaranga and Nuwan Pradeep claimed three wickets each.

In reply to that, B-Love Kandy chased down the target successfully and scored 118 runs for the loss of two wickets in 13 overs. Fakhar Zaman scored 42 runs, while Dinesh Chandimal contributed 22 runs. Wanindu Hasaranga was the top scorer with an unbeaten 52 runs in 22 balls, including 5 fours and 3 maximus.
