Much needed win for Pakistan
Pakistan registered 33 runs win over South Africa, in 36th T20I of the T20I World Cup at the Sydney on Thursday. Pakistan Captain Babar Azam won the coin toss and elected to bat first.
After winning the toss Pakistan posed a competitive score on the board. They made 185 runs for lost of 9 wickets in their 20 overs. Pakistan lost their top order cheaply. However, Mohammad Nawaz and Iftikhar Ahmed rebuild the innings and added 52 runs partnership for the 5th wicket. Nawaz scored 28 runs. After the dismissal of Nawaz, Shadab Khan joined with Iftikhar and took the game away from South Africa. Both made 82 runs partnership in 35 balls. Shadab Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed scored 52 and 51 respectively. While in the bowling department for South Africa, Anrich Nortje claimed 4 wickets.
In reply that South Africa hasn’t had a good start. They lost 2 early wickets. After that skipper Temba Bavuma and Aiden Markram put on a 49 runs partnership for the 3rd wicket. But unfortunately they lost both set batsman, Bavuma and Markram in quick sucsetions. After that match was interrupted by rain for a while. However after a some delay match was restarted and 2nd inns reduced to 14 overs also target was revised for South Africa to 142. It was too much for South Africa and they felt 33 runs short. After that rain break South Africa lost wickets regularly. Eventually they manage to score 108 runs for lost of 9 wickets in their 14 overs.
