Zimbabwe beats the West Indies 

Zimbabwe registered a 35-run win over the West Indies in the 13th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023 on Saturday in Harare. West Indies captain Shai Hope won the toss and opted to bowl first.

After losing the toss, Zimbabwe got off to a solid start. Joylord Gumbie and Craig Ervine made a 63-run partnership for the first wicket until Joylord Gumbie was dismissed for 26 runs. Craig Ervine scored 47 runs, while Sean Williams contributed 23 runs. After the dismissal of Williams, Ryan Burl joined with Sikandar Raza and made an 87-run partnership for the 5th wicket. Ryan Burl scored 50 runs, and Sikandar Raza was the top scorer with 68 runs. Eventually, Zimbabwe was bowled out for 268 runs in 49.5 overs.

In reply, the West Indies were bowled out for 233 runs in 44.4 overs. Kyle Mayers was the top scorer with 56 runs, and Roston Chase scored 44 runs. Nicholas Pooran scored 34 runs, and skipper Shai Hope was dismissed for 30 runs. Zimbabwe’s bowlers kept things tight and took wickets at regular intervals. For Zimbabawe, Tendai Chatara took 3 wickets, while Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava, and Sikandar Raza claimed 2 wickets each.

With that win, Zimbabwe will carry four points and NRR to the Super Sixes. West Indies and Netherlands will carry only two points forward because both teams lost to Zimbabwe.
