We discussed the opening combination and have not finalized it yet – Naveed Nawaz

Before the match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan, Sri Lanka batting coach Naveed Nawaz joined the pre-match media conference and expressed his thoughts about Lahiru Kumara’s condition and team plans for the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. Naveed Nawaz said that they have discussed the opening combination and have not finalized it yet. 

“While he was bowling during the training session at Pune, Lahiru Kumara got injured in his quadriceps muscle, and it will take three weeks to recover. Dusmantha Chameera is named as the replacement for the injured Lahiru Kumara.” Naveed Nawaz said “We played with three bowlers, and Chameera is likely to play the match against Afghanistan,” he added.
