WATCH : well-deserved and well-planned victory against Sri Lanka – Misbah Ul Haq

Afghanistan registered a comfortable 7-wicket win against Sri Lanka on Monday at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Sri Lanka batted first and bowled out 241 runs in 49.3 overs. In reply to that, Afghanistan chased down the target successfully and scored 242 runs for a loss of 3 wickets in 45.2 overs.

Former Pakistani captain Misbah Ul Haq appreciated the Afghanistan effort and their performance during the ongoing World Cup in India. He congratulated Afghanistan’s coaching staff.

Misbah Ul Haq explained the way Afghanistan players and management executed their plan during the match against Sri Lanka and said it was a well-deserved and well-planned victory.

Misbah Ul Haq said that Afghanistan did everything right during the match against Sri Lanka. “Afghanistan made one change in their playing XI according to the conditions from their last game. They dropped Noor Ahmad, and Fazalhaq Farooqi was brought in. He became the man of the match.” Misbah said.

A former Pakistani captain said that Afghanistan took the right decision in the toss. “Afghan strength is bowling; we thought that they would bat first and defend the total. but they decided to bowl first after seeing the condition of the pitch.” Misbah said.

Also, Misbah Ul Haq said that the Afghanistan captain led the side pretty well, and he did good bowling in the middle. “The Afghan captain used Mujeeb to break the partnership between Kusal Mendis and Sadeera Samarawickrama, and that set the tone for Afghanistan” Misbah Ul Haq explained the Hashmatullah’s captaincy skills.
