Vijay Shankar took the game away from KKR

Gujarat Titans registered a 7-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders in the 39th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 on Saturday in Kolkata. Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya won the coin toss and elected to bowl first.

After losing the toss, the Kolkata Knight Riders scored 179 runs for 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz was the top scorer with 81 runs, and Andre Russell contributed with a quick 34 runs in the back stage of the innings. For the Gujarat Titans, Mohammed Shami claimed three wickets.

In reply, Gujarat Titans chased down the target successfully and scored 180 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 17.5 runs. Shubman Gill scored 49 runs, and Hardik Pandya scored 26 runs. Vijay Shankar finished the game in style and scored an unbeaten 51 runs, while David Miller contributed 32 runs.
