Sri Lanka registered a 21-run win over Bangladesh in the second match of the Super Fours stage of the Asia Cup 2023 on Saturday at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Sri Lanka batted first and scored 257 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 50 overs. In reply to that, Bangladesh was bowled out for 236 runs in 48.1 overs. With that win Sri Lanka became only the second team to win 13 consecutive ODI matches. Many cricketers tweeted about that and congratulated the Sri Lanka team.
Sri Lanka showing their incredible resilience, star players injured but the winning streak continues #13 #AsiaCup2023— Tom Moody (@TomMoodyCricket) September 9, 2023
Sadeera's exceptional knock on a surface where everyone struggled to perform delivers SL🇱🇰 their first win in the Super 4 stage of the #AsiaCup2023. Mendis also made a valuable contribution with the bat.— Lasith Malinga (@malinga_ninety9) September 9, 2023
It's good to see Shanaka taking responsibility and delivering with the ball
Sri Lanka continues to shine with a stellar all-round performance, extending their winning streak! Kudos to Bangladesh for a valiant effort, but this could mark the end of their campaign.#SLvBAN #Asiacup2023— Robin Aiyuda Uthappa (@robbieuthappa) September 9, 2023
Mightily impressed with Sadeera Samarawickrama 's temperament today. His technique was never in doubt, its his temperament that always let him down. But today vs Bangladesh it was all in place. Congratulations!— Roshan Abeysinghe (@RoshanCricket) September 9, 2023
