The ICC announced that Sri Lanka can continue to play international cricket

The International Cricket Council officially announced that the ICC Men’s U19 Cricket World Cup 2024 in January will be shifted to South Africa. Previously, it was scheduled to be played in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) was recently suspended by the ICC for breaching its obligations as a member, namely for failing to manage its affairs autonomously and without government interference.

Also, the ICC revealed that funding for SLC will be controlled by the ICC for further notice. But Sri Lanka can continue to play internationally, both in bilateral cricket and ICC events.

With those decisions, the Sri Lanka Under-19 team will be able to take part in the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup 2024.
