Suryakumar Yadav took the game away from Sri Lanka

On Saturday, India defeated Sri Lanka by 91 runs in the third and final T20I of the series in Rajkot.India captain Hardik Pandya won the coin toss and elected to bat first.

After winning the toss, India posed a huge target on the board and made 228 runs for the loss of five wickets in their 20 overs. India hasn’t had a good start; they lost Ishan Kishan in the first over. However, Shubman Gill and Rahul Tripathi rebuilt the innings, putting on a 49-run stand for the second wicket until Rahul Tripathi was caught for 35 runs in 16 balls. After the dismissal of Rahul Tripathi, Suryakumar Yadav came out to bat and turned the game around in favor of India. Both Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill added 111 runs for the third wicket and took the game away from Sri Lanka. Shubman Gill scored 46 runs. Suryakumar Yadav was the star with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 112 runs in 51 balls, his third T20I century. At the back end of the innings, Axar Patel scored an unbeaten 21 runs in just 9 balls.

Sri Lanka bowled them out for 137 runs in 16.4 overs in response. Sri Lanka is off to a solid start with Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka. Both added 44 runs for the first wicket until Kusal Mendis was dismissed for 23 runs. Following that, Sri Lanka lost two quick wickets and their momentum. However,  Sri Lanka lost wickets on a regular basis. Dasun Shanaka made 23 runs, and Dhananjaya de Silva scored 22 runs. Arshdeep Singh took three wickets for India.

India won the series 2-1 with that victory. For his overall performance throughout the series, Axar Patel was named Player of the Series.
