Sri Lanka remains the only Asian team to win a Test series

South Africa registered an innings and 32 runs win over India in the 1st Test match of the series on Thursday at SuperSport Park in Centurion and led the series 1-0. With that loss, India won’t be able to win the ongoing two-match Test series even though they win the remaining Test match at Newlands in Cape Town. With that, Sri Lanka remains the only Asian team to win a Test series in South Africa.

Sri Lanka won the two-match Test series against South Africa in 2019, and Sri Lanka became the first and only Asian team to win a Test series in South Africa. Sri Lanka registered a 1 wicket win in the 1st Test of the series, while Sri Lanka won by 8 wickets in the second Test match of the series.

Only Australia and England have been able to win Test series in South Africa other than Sri Lanka.
