Sri Lanka lost one point in Super League standings

The second One-Day International (ODI) between Sri Lanka and New Zealand was called off due to rain. With that, Sri Lanka gained 5 points in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League standings.

However, the ICC announced that Sri Lanka lost one point from their points tally for their slow overrate in the first ODI against New Zealand at Auckland. Also players will fined 20 per cent of their match fee.

Sri Lanka have 81 points and are in 9th place in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League standings. They have 1 match to play. If Sri Lanka wants to qualify for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, they have to win their remaining match against New Zealand, and South Africa must lose their remaining two matches against the Netherlands.
