South Africa won rain effected 1st T20I against Sri Lanka

South Africa won by 19 runs against Sri Lanka in rain effected 1st T20I at Centurion on Friday. Match reduced 10 overs per side due to rain .Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews won the coin toss, and elected to bowl first.

JJ Smuts and Heino Kuhn stared the South African innings and they couldn’t made a good opening partnership for the first wicket. Heino Kuhn dismissed for 10 runs at the score of 15. Very next over Suranga Lakmal took the wicket of JJ Smuts and he manage to score 13 runs for his team. 24 runs later South Africa lost their 3rd wicket. But they manage to maintain a healthy run rate. However, David Miller and  South African skipper Farhaan Behardien made 51 runs partnership for the 4th Wicket before David Miller fell for 40 runs in 18 balls. Finally South African manage to score 126 runs for lost of 5 wickets in their 10 overs. For Sri Lanka Nuwan Kulasekara took 2 wickets.

In reply that Sri Lankan were off to a steady start, with the openers contributing 59 opening runs in 31 balls, before Niroshan Dickwella fell for 43 runs in 19 balls. 14 runs later Dhananjaya de Silva out for 27 runs. In very next over debutant Thikshila de Silva dismissed for golden duck. Seekkuge Prasanna smashed two huge sixes and dismissed as the 4th Wicket of Sri Lanka. Kusal Mendis and Sri Lankan Skipper Angelo Mathews could not fair well, as they fell for single figures. However Sri Lankan mange to score 107 runs for lost of 6 wickets in their 10 overs and it claimed 19 runs victory for the South African side.

Lungisani Ngidi claimed two wickets and he named as the Player of the Match for his brilliant bowling.
