South Afirca in a spot of bother

At the end of the 2nd day of the first Test match of the series between South Africa and West Indies, South Africa was in a spot of bother with the loss of 4 wickets for 49 runs in their 2nd innings.

South Africa begin their innings for the 2nd day with 314 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. However, Alzarri Joseph took the last 2 wickets, and they restricted South Africa to 342 runs. Alzarri Joseph was the star with the ball for the West Indies.

In reply, the West Indies bowled them out for 212 runs. Raymon Reifer was the top scorer for the West Indies with 62 runs, and Jermaine Blackwood scored 37 runs. Roston Chase and Tagenarine Chanderpaul each contributed 22 runs. For South Africa, Anrich Nortje claimed 5 wickets.

South Africa started their second innings with a 130-run lead. South African openers made a 31-run partnership for the first wicket until Dean Elgar was dismissed for just 1 run. However, after that, South Africa lost their momentum and lost four quick wickets. At the end of the day’s play, South Africa scored 49 runs for the loss of 4 wickets, and Aiden Markram stayed on not out for 35 runs.
