SLC accept the resignation letter of Thirimanne

Sri Lanka Cricket announced that the Executive Committee decided to accept the resignation of Lahiru Thirimanne from playing all forms of International Cricket during a Meeting held recently. Lahiru Thirimanne announced his retirement from international cricket in July.

‘We take this opportunity to wish Thirimanne the best in his future endeavors, and his services to Sri Lanka Cricket covering all forms of the game will be well remembered,’ said Mr. Ashley De Silva, CEO, Sri Lanka Cricket.

Lahiru Thirimanne played 44 Tests, 127 ODIs, and 26 T20Is for Sri Lanka and scored 2088 Test runs, 3194 ODI runs, and 291 runs in T20Is. He has seven hundred across formats. He played Three formats for Sri Lanka. Later, he was considered for the test format. Thirimanne’s last international fixture was against India in Bengaluru in 2022.
