Rangana Herath becomes the most successful left-arm spinner in Test history
38 years old Sri Lanka’s main wicket-taking bowler in Tests Rangana Herath achieved a another milestone in his Test Career on the fifth day of the test match against Bangladesh at Galle. Rangana Herath took his 363rd Test wicket and became The most successful left-Arm spinner. He achieved this milestone when he dismissed Liton Das in the Bangladesh second innings. New Zealand Legend Daniel Vettori was record holder previously with 362 Test wickets. Also he has passed Pakistan fast bowler Imran Khan and became the 19th in highest wicket taker’s list. With that he became the 2nd highest wicket takers among the all the left arm bowlers after Pakistan Wasim Akram (414).
After the retirement of Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan, Rangana Herath has filled that space. Rangana Herath has played 79 Test matches and he claimed 366 wickets in 144 innings. He has took 29 five wickets hauls in an Innings and 7 ten wickets hauls in Test matches. Also he hold the Record for the most Fifers taken in the fourth innings of Test match.
