Pakistan start the World Cup campaign with a win

Pakistan registered an 81-run win over the Netherlands in the 2nd match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 on Friday at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Netherlands captain Scott Edwards won the toss and opted to bowl first.

After losing the toss, Pakistan bowled out 286 runs in 49 overs. After a sheaky start, Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel made 120 runs for the 4th wicket and rebuilt the innings. Both Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan scored 68 runs each. Mohammad Nawaz unfortunately ran out for 39 runs. Shadab Khan contributed 32 runs. For the Netherlands, Bas de Leede claimed four wickets.

In reply to that, the Netherlands bowled out 205 runs in 41 overs. Bas de Leede was the top scorer with 67 runs, and Vikramjit Singh scored 52 runs. At the back end of the inning, Logan van Beek scored an unbeaten 28 runs. For Pakistan, Haris Rauf claimed 3 wickets, while Hasan Ali chipped in with 2 wickets.
