Pakistan equal Sri Lanka’s record in T20 World Cup final

Pakistan registered a 7 wicket win over New Zealand and qualified for the T20 World Cup final. This is the third time that Pakistan qualified for the T20 World Cup. Pakistan played in the T20 World Cup finals in 2007 and 2009. In 2009, they became the champions by beating Sri Lanka. After 13 years, Pakistan managed to reach the T20 World Cup final for the 3rd time and became the 2nd team to play three T20 World Cup finals.

Previously, Sri Lanka was the only team to play three T20 World Cup finals. Sri Lanka became the champions in 2014 and they were runners-up in 2009 and 2012.
