Pakistan dominates day one against Sri Lanka
At the End of Day 1 of the second Test between Sri Lanka and Pakistan in Colombo, Pakistan trailed by 21 runs. Sri Lanka’s captain won the coin toss and elected to bat first.
After winning the toss, Sri Lanka was bowled out for 166 runs in 48.4 overs. Sri Lanka hasn’t had a good start, and they lost their top four wickets when the score was 36 runs. After that, Dhananjaya de Silva and Dinesh Chandimal made an 85-run partnership for the 5th wicket until Dinesh Chandimal was dismissed for 34 runs. Dhananjaya de Silva was the top scorer with 57 runs. Ramesh Mendis contributed 27 runs. For Pakistan, Abrar Ahmed claimed four wickets.
In reply, Pakistan scored 145 runs for the loss of 2 wickets at the close of the day’s play. Pakistan lost Imam-ul-Haq for six runs when the score was 13. However, after that, Shan Masood and Abdullah Shafique added 108 runs for the second wicket. Shan Masood scored 51 runs. At the end of the day’s play, Abdullah Shafique stayed on not out for 74 runs, while Babar Azam on the other end had 8 runs.
