On this day in 2018, Sri Lankan spinning wizard Rangana Herath made his last appearance in Test matches. He played his last Test match against England at Galle. He is the best left-arm spinner ever produced by Sri Lanka. Rangana Herath played 93 Test matches, claimed 433 wickets, and scored 1699 runs.
On this day in 2014, Sri Lankan legend Mahela Jayawardene passed 12,000 runs in ODI matches. Jayawardene is the 3rd Sri Lankan and 5th overall to achieve that milestone. He achieved this feat while batting against India in Hyderabad.
