New Zealand registered a comfortable win over England

New Zealand registered a comfortable 8 wickets win over England in the 1st ODI of the series on Friday at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. New Zealand captain Tom Latham won the toss and opted to bowl first.

After losing the toss, England scored 291 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 50 overs. Dawid Malan and Harry Brook made an 80-run partnership for the first wicket. Harry Brook scored 25 runs, and Dawid Malan scored 54 runs. Skipper Jos Buttler was the top scorer with 72 runs. Ben Stokes and Liam Livingstone scored 52 runs each. For New Zealand, Rachin Ravindra claimed three wickets.

In reply to that, New Zealand chased down the target successfully and scored 297 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 45.4 overs. Daryl Mitchell was the top scorer with an unbeaten 118 runs, and Devon Conway scored 111 runs not out. Devon Conway and Daryl Mitchell made an unbroken 180 runs for the 3rd wicket.
