Netherlands wins low scoring thriller
Netherlands registered 3 wickets win over UAE, in 2nd match of the ICC T20 World Cup at the Geelong on Sunday. UAE captain Chundangapoyil Rizwan won the coin toss and elected to bat first.
UAE start their innings very slowly. Chirag Suri and Muhammad Waseem made 33 runs partnership for the first wicket. Muhammad Waseem was the top scorer with 41 runs. At the back end of the innings UAE batsman tried to hit some big shots to up the run rate. But they lost 6 wickets with in 19 runs. For Netherlands Bas de Leede claimed 3 wickets for just 19 runs.
- In reply that Netherlands cross the line in one ball to spare. Netherlands made 112 runs for lost of 7 wickets. They hasnt had a good start. UAE bowlers kept things tight and put presure on Netherlands. Max ODowd was the top scorer for Netherlands and he scored 23 runs. Netherlands lost 3 wickets in quick sucsetions. But the drop catch from the UAE skipper released the pressure. Both Tim Pringle and Scott Edwards grab that opportunity in both hands and made valuable 27 runs partnership for the 7th wicket. Tim Pringle made 15 runs. Skipper Scott Edwards scored an unbeaten 16 runs and sealed the team to a victory.
