June 23: Kumar Sangakkara stranded on an unbeaten 199

On this day in 2012, Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara stranded on an unbeaten 199 against Pakistan at Galle. He missed his ninth double-century in Test cricket partly due to a scoreboard error at the ground, which showed him on 194 when his score was actually 193. Kumar Sangakkara took the singal and celebrated a double hundred that wasn’t. Unfortunately, Nuwan Pradeep got out and Sangakkara stayed 199 runs not out.
