Jaffna Kings registered their first win

Jaffna Kings registered a 4 wicket win over Dambulla Sixers in the 4th match of the Lanka Premier League 2024 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Jaffna Kings captain Charith Asalanka won the toss and opted to bowl first.

After losing the toss, the Dambulla Sixers scored 191 runs for a loss of 2 wickets in their 20 overs. After the dismissal of Danushka Gunathilaka, Kusal Perera and Nuwanidu Fernando made a 108-run partnership for the 2nd wicket. Nuwanidu Fernando scored 40 runs. Kusal Perera was the star with the bat and scored an unbeaten 102 runs in 52 balls. At the back end of the inning, Mark Chapman scored an unbeaten 33 runs.

In reply to that, the Jaffna Kings chased down the target successfully in the last ball of the innings and scored 197 runs for a loss of 6 wickets. Jaffna Kings lost three early wickets. After that, Charith Asalanka and Avishka Fernando made a 134-run partnership for the 4th wicket and turned the game around. Charith Asalanka scored 50 runs, while Avishka Fernando scored 80 runs in 34 balls.
