Jadeja and KL Rahul took the game away from the visitors

India registered a 5-wicket win over Australia in the 1st ODI of the series on Friday at Mumbai. India captain Hardik Pandya won the coin toss and elected to bowl first.

After losing the toss, Australia hasn’t had a good start, and they lost Travis Head dismissed for just 5 runs. After that, Mitchell Marsh and skipper Steven Smith rebuilt the innings and made a 72-run partnership for the 2nd wicket, which lasted until Smith was dismissed for 22 runs. After that, Labuschagne joined Marsh and made 52 runs for the third wicket. Mitchell Marsh scored 81 runs in 65 balls. However, after that, Australia lost the momentum and lost wickets in regular intarvals. Josh Inglis scored 26 runs. Eventually, Australia bowled them out for 188 runs in 35.4 overs. For India, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj claimed three wickets each.

In response, India lost their top order very cheaply, and they were in trouble after losing four wickets for 39 runs. However, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya rebuilt the innings and made a 44-run partnership for the fifth wicket, with Hardik Pandya being dismissed for 25 runs. After that, Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul took the game away from the visitors with an unbroken 108-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Ravindra Jadeja scored an unbeaten 45 runs, and KL Rahul was the top scorer with an unbeaten 75 runs. In 39.5 overs, India scored 191 runs while losing five wickets. For Australia, Mitchell Starc took three wickets.
