India won the series 4-0
Karun Nair’s Triple ton and Ravindra Jadeja’s brilliant bowling registered a convincing win over England, in 5th test match, and they complete the series with 4-0 at the Chennai on Tuesday. England Captain Alastair Cook won the coin toss, and elected to bat first.
After they won the toss England couldn’t get start that they wanted. They lost 2 early wickets but joe Root and Moeen Ali made 146 runs partnership for the 3rd wicket. Moeen Ali scored a magnificent 146 and made his 5th Test Hundred. Joe Root(88), Liam Dawson(66) and Adil Rashid help England to post 477 runs for the 1st Innings.
In reply that India made 759 runs for lost of 7 wickets. Parthiv Patel(71), Ravichandran Ashwin(67) and Ravindra Jadeja(51) contributed with half-Centuries India to made this mammoth total. However it was KL Rahul and Karun Nair who was the star of Indian inning. Unfortunately KL Rahul out for 199 runs and he missed his maiden double hundred by one run. Karun Nair scored a gritty Triple Century. He stayed on 303 not out when the Indian skipper decided to declared their innings.
England stared their second innings 282 behind and they manage to score 207 runs in their 2nd Innings. England had a good 103 runs opening partnership but The Indian bowlers kept things tight and never let go of their grip. Since then England lost Wickets at regular Intervals. Keaton Jennings was the top scorer for England and He scored 54 runs. while in the bowling department, it was Ravindra Jadeja, who claimed seven wickets in the England’s 2nd Innings. However England fall 75 runs short on their follow-on and it clam innings and 75 runs victory for the India. With that India clinch the series 4-0
Young Batsman Karun Nair named player of the match for his 303 runs and Indian Skipper Virat Kohli named as the player of the series for his 655 runs in throughout the series.
