Galle Gladiators gain two points in the standings

The Galle Gladiators registered a 25-run win over the Jaffna Kings in the 7th match of the Lanka Premier League on Sunday at Pallekele. The Galle Gladiators captain, Kusal Mendis, won the coin toss and elected to bat first.

After winning the toss, the Galle Gladiators scored 174 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs. Kusal Mendis and Thanuka Dabare made 75 runs for the first wicket. Kusal Mendis scored 39 runs, and Thanuka Dabare made 36 runs. Lahiru Udara was the top scorer with an unbeaten 45.

In reply, the Colombo Stars managed to score 149 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs. The Colombo Stars haven’t had a good start, and they have lost wickets at regular intervals. Niroshan Dickwella was the top scorer with 58 runs. At the back end of the innings, Ravi Bopara hit some big shots and scored 46 runs. For the Galle Gladiators, Wahab Riaz took two wickets for 21 runs.

With that victory, the Galle Gladiators gain two points in the standings.
