Dunith Wellalage was named captain of Sri Lanka A team
Sri Lanka Cricket announced the 15-member Sri Lanka A squad for the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023, which gets under way on July 12. Sri Lanka will host the tournament, and eight nations will battle for one trophy.
Former Sri Lanka Under-19 Team captain Dunith Wellalage was named captain of the side. Sri Lanka A team strength with some experienced players like Avishka Fernando, Chamika Karunarathne, and Ashen Bandara.

Dunith Wellalage (C), Pasindu Sooriyabandara, Minod Bhanuka, Avishka Fernando, Lasith Croospulle, Sahan Arachchige, Ashen Bandara, Lahiru Udara, Janith Liyanage, Binura Fernando, Lahiru Samarakoon, Isitha Wijesunera, Chamika Karunarathne, Pramod Madushan, Dushan Hemantha.
Sri Lanka “A” will play their first match against Bangladesh “A” on July 13 at the SSC as the opening match of the tournament, while Afghanistan ‘A’ will take on Oman ‘A’ at the CCC.
