Delhi Capitals were eliminated from the Indian Premier League

Punjab Kings registered a 31-run win over Delhi Capitals in the 59th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 on Saturday at Delhi. Delhi Capitals captain David Warner won the coin toss and elected to bowl first.

After losing the toss, the Punjab Kings scored 167 runs for seven wickets in their 20 overs. Prabhsimran Singh was the star with the bat and scored 103 runs in 65 balls with six sixes and 10 fours. Sam Curran contributed with 20 runs, while Sikandar Raza scored an unbeaten 11 runs. Other than that, no one was able to reach the double-figure mark.

In reply to that, the Delhi Capitals managed to score 136 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs. David Warner was the top scorer with 54 runs, and Philip Salt scored 21 runs. Both Philip Salt and Warner made a 69-run partnership for the first wicket. However, the Delhi Capitals lost their momentum, and they lost wickets at regular intervals. For the Punjab Kings, Harpreet Brar claimed four wickets.

With that loss, the Delhi Capitals were eliminated from the Indian Premier League in 2023
