Comfortable win for England

England Women registered a 7-wicket win over West Indies in the 2nd match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup on Saturday at Paarl. West Indies women’s cricket captain Hayley Matthews won the coin toss and elected to bat first.

After winning the toss, the West Indies ladies managed to score 135 runs for a loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Skipper Hayley Matthews was the top scorer with 42 runs, and Shemaine Campbelle scored 34 runs. For England, Sophie Ecclestone claimed three wickets for 23 runs.

In reply, England’s women chased down the target successfully in 14.3 overs. Natalie Sciver was the top scorer for England with an unbeaten 40 runs, and skipper Heather Knight scored an unbeaten 32 runs. Sophia Dunkley contributed 34 runs. For the West Indies, Chinelle Henry claimed two wickets.
