Bangladesh beats India
Bangladesh registered a six-wicket win over India in the sixth match of the Asia Cup on Friday at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first.
After losing the toss, Bangladesh scored 265 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 50 overs. Shakib Al Hasan was the top scorer with 80 runs, and Towhid Hridoy scored 54 runs. Nasum Ahmed scored 44 runs, while Mahedi Hasan contributed 29 runs. For India, Shardul Thakur claimed three wickets.
In reply to that, India bowled out for 259 runs in 49.5 overs. Shubman Gill was the star with the bat and scored 121 runs in 133 balls. However, Bangladesh bowlers kept things tight and put pressure on India, and India lost wickets at regular intervals. At the back end of the inning, Axar Patel contributed 42 runs. For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rahman claimed three wickets.
