Back-to-back wins for Sri Lanka women in the T20 World Cup Qualifier

The Sri Lanka women’s team registered a comfortable 10 wicket win over the Scotland women’s team in the 8th match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. Sri Lanka women’s team captain Chamari Athapaththu elected the bowl first.

After losing the toss, the Scotland women’s team bowled out 94 runs in 18.1 overs. Lorna Jack was the top scorer with 24 runs, and skipper Kathryn Bryce scored 22 runs. Ailsa Lister made 13 runs. Other than that, no one was able to reach the double-figure mark. While in the bowling department for Sri Lanka, Kavisha Dilhari claimed 4 wickets, and Inoshi Priyadharshani chipped in with 3 wickets.

In reply to that, the Sri Lanka women’s team chased down the target comfortably and made 95 runs without losing a wicket in 10.1 overs. Once again, Chamari Athapaththu was the star with the bat and scored an unbeaten 59 runs in 35 balls. Vishmi Gunaratne was well supported with an unbeaten 24 runs.
