B-Love Kandy qualify for the playoffs
B-Love Kandy registered an 8-run win over Jaffna Kings in the 15th Match of the Lanka Premier League 2023 on Saturday at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. B-Love Kandy captain Wanindu Hasaranga won the toss and opted to bat first.
After winning the toss, B-Love Kandy scored 178 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs. Mohammad Haris was the top scorer with 81 runs in 51 balls. Fakhar Zaman and Angelo Mathews contributed 22 runs each. For the Jaffna Kings, Nuwan Thushara claimed three wickets.
In reply to bat, the Jaffna Kings manage to score 170 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs. Shoaib Malik was the top scorer with an unbeaten 55 runs, but it wasn’t enough to cross the line for Jaffna.
Thisara Perera scored 36 runs. For B-Love Kandy, Angelo Mathews claimed three wickets.
With that win, Dambulla Aura and B-Love Kandy registered their places in the playoffs in the Lanka Premier League 2023.
