Avishka and Kusal took the game away from Jaffna

Dambulla Aura registered a comfortable 8-wicket win over Jaffna Kings in the 4th Match of the Lanka Premier League 2023 on Tuesday at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Jaffna Kings captain Thisara Perera won the toss and opted to bat first.

After winning the toss, the Jaffna Kings managed to score 129 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs. Charith Asalanka was the top scorer with 56 runs, and Towhid Hridoy scored 24 runs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and David Miller scored 14 runs each.

In reply, Dambulla Aura chased down the target successfully and scored 132 runs for the loss of two wickets in 16.2 overs. Avishka Fernando and Kusal Mendis made a 76-run partnership for the first wicket and laid the platform for the chase. Avishka Fernando was the top scorer with 52 runs, and Kusal Mendis scored 29 runs. Kusal Perera contributed with an unbeaten 34 runs.
