Australia registered their first win

Australia registered 7 wickets win over Sri Lanka, in 19th T20I of the T20I World Cup at the Perth on Tuesday. Australia Captain Aaron Finch won the coin toss and elected to bowl first.

After losing the toss Sri Lanka made 157 runs for lost of 6 wickets. Sri Lanka lost their inform opening batsman Kusal Mendis cheaply in 2nd over of the match. After the lost of Mendis, Dhananjaya de Silva joined with Pathum Nissanka and made 69 runs partnership for the 2nd wicket. Dhananjaya de Silva scored 26 runs in 23 balls. 22 runs later well set Pathum Nissanka unfortunately run out for 40 runs. After that Sri Lanka lost 3 wickets in quick sucsetions. Banuka Rajapaksa, Dasun Shanaka and Wanidu Hasaranga dismissed for single digits scores. However at the back end of the innings Chamika Karunarathne and Charith Asalanka made valuable unbroken partnership and added 37 runs in 15 balls. Chamika Karunarathne scored an unbeaten 14 runs in just 7 balls and Charith Asalanka made an unbeaten 38 runs.

In reply that Australia chased down the target successfully with in 16.3 overs. Australia had a slow start and lost David Warner very early. Sri Lankan bowlers kept things tight and put pressure on Australian batsman. But Sri Lanka fast bowler Binura Fernando went off the field due to an injury in his first over. It was a big lost for Sri Lanka. However they manage, Mitchell Marsh and Aaron Finch to kept quite. Mitchell Marsh scored 17 runs in 17 balls. After the dismissal of Marsh, Glenn Maxwell came out to bat and hit some big shots and put pressure back on Sri Lanka. However Ashen Bandara took a brilliant catch to get rid of Maxwell for 23 runs. After that Marcus Stoinis joined with the skipper Finch and made unbroken 69 runs match winning partnership from 25 balls. Marcus Stoinis was the main contributer with 59 runs. He scored his 50 from 17 balls. Aaron Finch made an unbeaten 31 runs. Sri Lankan Super star Wanidu Hasaranga considered 53 runs in his 3 overs. However Australia scored 158 runs for lost of 3 wickets on 16.3 overs and open their account in points table with 2 points.
